Monistrol-sur-Loire Blood Donors Association Sees Increase in Donors for 2023, Plans for 2024 Announced

Saturday, February 24, the general meeting of the Monistrol-sur-Loire blood donors association was held. The results for 2023 are satisfactory with 1261 donors presented including 64 new donors.

1,261 donors came forward, or 6.59%, more than in 2022; 64 were new donors, or 12% less than in 2022. “437 donors live in Monistrol. 7% of the population, old enough to donate Monistrol, gives blood. Donations made to Monistrol represent 9% of the total donations made in Haute-Loire”, adds Claude Hivert, president of the ADSB of Monistrol.

Numerous actions promoting donations were organized throughout the year: either in schools, high schools, or by setting up stands during various events in the town.

The president gave the objectives for 2024, as well as the means of communication made available to the association. Six days of blood drives are scheduled. The first took place in January, 231 donors showed up for the collection, including 11 new ones. The next one will take place on Monday March 25.

On Sunday October 27, the Departmental Congress of Blood Donor Associations of Haute-Loire will take place at the Capitelle in Monistrol.
