A series of inspections of oversized heavy vehicles were carried out on the territory of the Burgas region and in the area of the Port of Burgas by joint teams of police officers and employees of the Road Infrastructure Agency and the Executive Agency of the Automobile Administration
Checked in total: 701 cars with Bulgarian registration, 131 trucks with EU registration and 4 cars with non-EU registration.
A total of 199 violations were found, of which 20 – irregular driver documents, 17 – speeding, 15 – irregular vehicle documents, 13 – failure to use a seat belt, 10 – failure to secure loads, etc.
123 buses with Bulgarian registration and 24 with EU registration were checked.
A total of 13 violations were found, of which 5 for not using a seat belt, 2 violations related to irregular documents of the driver, 1 technical malfunction, 1 case of irregular documents of the vehicle, etc.
The goal of the joint actions is to minimize the risks to the life and health of travelers, as well as to ensure safe conditions for traffic on the sections with intensive heavy-duty traffic and to limit the conditions for traffic accidents.
Extraordinary inspections will continue in other cities of the country, with particular emphasis on truck overloading.
