Russia to Ban Gasoline Exports for Six Months Starting March 2024

Russia will impose a ban on gasoline exports for half a year, starting next March, in a move aimed at achieving stability in the local fuel market.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved a proposal that includes imposing a ban on gasoline exports from the country starting March 1, 2024 for a period of 6 months, according to what the RBK economic website reported from an informed source.
The Russian government’s decision will not affect the volume of fuel supplies agreed upon to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan), as well as to Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia, and South Ossetia.

It was also decided to raise the standard for diesel fuel sales on the stock exchange to 16 percent.
Informed sources revealed in mid-January that the Russian government was considering imposing a ban on the export of all types of commercial gasoline.

At the end of last January, Novak had confirmed the stability of the situation in the Russian fuel market, which was also confirmed by Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov.
