773 Cases of Dengue Fever and 4 Deaths Recorded in Lebak, Banten in 2024

Lebak

District Health Service (Dinkes). LebakBanten, recorded 773 cases of dengue fever (DHF) occurring in early 2024. Of the hundreds of cases, four died.

P3M sub-coordinator at the Lebak Health Office, Rohmat Puji Raharjo, said hundreds of cases of dengue fever occurred during January and February 2024. Most cases were found in Rangkasbitung, Cibadak and Maja.

“There were 773 cases of dengue fever from January to February spread across all sub-districts in Lebak. This case also caused four patients to die,” said Rohmat when asked for confirmation, Tuesday (27/2/2024).

Rohmat claimed that the high number of dengue fever cases at the beginning of this year was due to the large number of health workers finding patients infected with dengue fever so that cases could be handled quickly.

“Indeed, there has been an increase in relation to community health centers acting quickly. If they find a case in an area, officers will go to the field to look for others so that the patient can be treated,” he said.

Rohmat explained that weather and environmental cleanliness were factors in the high number of dengue fever cases in Lebak. He also asked residents to regularly clean the environment.

“One factor is that due to the rainy season, there are lots of standing water which becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes. The cleanliness of the environment outside or inside the house must be maintained,” he concluded.
