A great figure in theater and cinema is gone.
Kalin Sarmenov announced sad news on his Facebook profile. He announced the death of the great actor Slavcho Peev.
“Slavcho Peev is gone! Svetlina Slave and thank you for the meaningful moments. Applause and bow”, read the words of the director of Satire.
Slavcho Peev died a month before his 85th birthday and until the end he played in several plays, although his health was shaken. Slavcho Peev is the doyen of Satire.
He was born on April 4, 1939. He graduated in acting at VITIZ “Krastyo Sarafov” in 1964. Peev worked at the “Yordan Yovkov” Drama Theater in Dobrich, at the “Aleko Konstantinov” Satirical Theater, where he was the director until 1989.
He was the director of the Bulgarian Academy of Culture in Rome and the Central Student House of Culture.
Peev’s acting career includes over 70 theater and 100 television roles, as well as appearances in over 25 films. Among the films with his participation are “The Horseman” (1964), “There’s Nothing Better Than Bad Weather” (1971), “With Children at Sea” (1972), “Mission London” (2010) and many others.
Slavcho Peev had a serious setback with his health after suffering from covid in 2022. One of his legs stopped functioning and great luminaries in medicine fought to save him. His right leg underwent acupuncture to try to stabilize it. These problems largely thwarted his theater appearances, and until recently he had appeared in only two productions, with a desire for more.
