Current Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino is under pressure after the team slipped in the league and also lost to Liverpool in the league cup final. Previous reports have claimed that there is internal player dissatisfaction with the Argentine, but that it would be difficult to fire him as there are financial rules to deal with.
Chelsea still seems to be scouting for other coaching names and one of them should be with a competitor. According to transfer journalist Nicolo Schira, “The Blues” have Brighton’s successful coach Robert De Zerbi under surveillance.
De Zerbi has previously been linked with clubs such as Barcelona and Liverpool.
Chelsea have recruited massively from Brighton in recent years. A couple of examples are Moises Caicedo, Robert Sanchez and Graham Potter.
