A young resident of the Quintero neighborhood, located in the main municipality of Santiago de Cuba, ended his father’s life after an apparent argument caused by a vehicle.
According to independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada, the young man was identified as Frank Leonardo Galbán Guerra, 32 years old, while the victim responded to the name of Leonardo Galbán, better known to his neighbors as “El Blanco.”
A person close to those involved told the communicator that the son had suffocated his father to take an engine from him.
“For a while the son had been asking for the engine and the father did not want to give it to him, and he threatened the father that if he did not give him the engine he would kill him,” says the aforementioned source.
According to this person, the relationship between the two was complicated, with the father being afraid of his son to the point of having to sleep with a machete.
The young man identifies himself on social networks as “Gigolo Galbán”, and resides with his grandmother in the Rajayoga neighborhood, although he frequently went to his father’s house to argue about the engine in question.
Another source close to the family, who requested to remain anonymous, indicated that this would not have been the first attack perpetrated by the son against his father, since a little over a year ago he gave him acid to drink in an attempt to finish with his life.
Sources describe the son as a person who is dedicated to nightlife, living between parties and being involved in “riding” activities, which explains his nickname on social networks.
According to the comments made in the independent reporter’s complaint, agents of the National Revolutionary Police had gone to the crime scene to reconstruct the events.
Many of the users complained about the current situation on the Island, pointing out a sharp increase in insecurity, especially in the province of Santiago de Cuba, where several murders have been reported in recent weeks.
“The situation is going from bad to worse, but you cannot lose control at that level. I don’t understand anything”; “How long? My God. In truth, Santiago de Cuba has now become the fear of all Cubans” and “Can someone explain what is happening in Santiago? What happened to that humanitarian warmth, with the solidarity and humility that characterized us?” were just some of the comments that complained about the growing wave of insecurity that was hitting the territory.
