The US Congress understands that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have several weeks left before they withdraw from their positions. In this regard, two members of the House of Representatives – Republican Brian Fitzpatrick and Democrat Jared Golden – call on their colleagues to support an alternative version of the foreign aid bill, writes the American newspaper The Hill, quoted by Focus.
The Senate-approved aid bill for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan has been stalled in the House for weeks, and senior Democrats are now considering using a procedure that would bypass committees and the speaker for a vote. However, according to Golden, these efforts are unlikely to succeed, and Ukraine’s help is needed immediately.

The “cuts” bill would allocate $66.32 billion to the U.S. Department of Defense, including roughly $47 billion for Ukraine, $10 billion for Israel, $5 billion for the Indo-Pacific region and $2 billion to support Central Command operations of the US in the Middle East. The document also contains provisions to protect the border with Mexico. Congressmen are planning an extensive process of amending the bill to keep all parties satisfied.
“In a few weeks, Ukraine will cede significant territory and we cannot allow Russia to win,” warned one member of the US House of Representatives about the urgency of the decision.
