A unique 3D museum was opened in Hungary under the care of the Immortal Hungarian Sportsmen’s Association.
The virtual exhibition presents the biographies and relics of the members of the association. The victories of Olympic, world and European champions such as the gymnasts Ágnes Keleti and Zoltán Magyar, the water polo players Tamás Faragó and Tamás Kásás, but the audience can catch a glimpse of, among others, the wrestler Csaba Hegedüs, or the fencers Ildikó Rejtő and Tímea Nagy into his contemporary struggles.
The exhibition presents the relics and documents related to individual athletes in a new way, they can be almost “held”, rotated, walked around in the virtual space – this kind of processing has never been done in Hungary before.
The 3D museum “consists” of two imposing buildings, the Tower of Living Legends and the Tower of Angels. Everyone has a separate level in the tower, which was designed by the architect Ferenc Schüller.
Tímea Nagy, the president of the association, emphasized that with the museum, meeting the challenges of today, they wanted to show the individual generations the world in which the immortals made a lasting impression.
“We have a lot of work behind us, we had a unique dream. The great work is ready, now we will put it in front of the public, we hope it will be well received,” said the two-time Olympic champion fencer on Monday in the M4 Sport National Sports News program, emphasizing that everyone involved arranged the exhibition about him himself.
“I hope that this information will reach many people in the virtual space, and if they have the opportunity, they will meet us live,” said Judit Polgár, eight-time chess Olympian and two-time chess Olympian champion, who said that the exhibition was very spectacular and inspiring.
The members of the Immortal Hungarian Sportsmen’s Association – eight of whom are also Athletes of the Nation – constantly travel the country and hold podium discussions. The 3D museum can complement this type of mission, which reveals success, faith in work, and patriotism to those interested, says the announcement of the Halhatlatan Hungarian Sportsmen’s Association.
The virtual museum is free and available at https://hmse.hu/muzeum/ left.
