Renault launches the electric R5, a car built in France that will cost 25,000 euros.

French car manufacturer Renault presented the electric R5 at the Geneva Motor Show on Monday, which will compete with the many Chinese models on the European market.

The design of the new R5 is reminiscent of the iconic R5 that was launched in 1972. The car rolls off the production line in France at the Douai factory and is the first model of Renault’s new electric car platform.

With a price of around 25,000 euros, the R5 must compete with, among others, the electric C3 from Citroën and the many Chinese models that prey on the European market. The first deliveries are scheduled for September. (blg)
