The fan scandal in the 3rd league: Dynamo Dresden has officially apologized to Essen’s Felix Götze (26) for the derailments of some idiots.
Shortly before the end of the third division game (2:2) after a serious head injury, the RWE defender was insulted and mocked by several Dresden supporters among the 30,000 spectators in the Rudolf Harbig Stadium during his treatment and being transported away on a stretcher.

According to his own statements, Götze was even spat on and thrown at.
“The reactions that have occurred do not correspond to the attitude that we as a sports community want to stand for. Despite all the sporting rivalries, the idea of fair play on and off the pitch should be in the foreground in every situation, especially when players are injured,” Dynamo managing director David Fischer was quoted as saying in a statement from the club.
Fishes continued: “We would like to take this opportunity to expressly apologize to Felix Götze for the incidents and hope that he will be in good health again after treatment in the hospital.”
The professional had to receive stitches in a Dresden hospital and was able to travel home to Essen the evening after the game.
Dynamo fans also distance themselves from the insult
“Yesterday I cried for the first time in my football career. Not because of the pain, but because it was humiliating to be insulted, spit on and thrown at with a bleeding face and in shock. There are boundaries and unfortunately they were crossed yesterday,” Götze wrote in an emotional Instagram post.

Many Dynamo Dresden fans are now distancing themselves from the perpetrators on social networks. Point out that a large part of the spectators also said goodbye to the injured player with encouraging applause.
