Presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto met with the Chairman of the Democratic Party High Council, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono twice after voting for the 2024 General Election. Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) revealed the things that Prabowo and his father discussed.
“The meeting between these two figures certainly discussed things that are fundamental to the life of the nation and state. Starting from the post-election situation, of course we were both looking after each other, there was national reconciliation, then the community also did not drag on after the time came when the KPU officially announced the results,” said AHY at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday (26/2/2024).
He hopes that the public can accept the 2024 election results announced by the KPU. However, AHY believes that it is not easy for the losing candidate pairs to accept the election results.
“From the start, we were ready to win and ready to lose. Well, this is the proof that this is where our nation matures in democracy and politics. Hopefully that will happen,” he continued.
AHY continued, Prabowo and SBY also discussed Indonesia’s future economic outlook. Bearing in mind, President Jokowi’s achievements must be safeguarded and maintained.
“Then the two of them also of course discussed Indonesia’s economic outlook today and in the future with various challenges,” he said.
“We know that President Jokowi’s various achievements which must be maintained and maintained are also a priority, but there are also other new breakthroughs which also need to be accommodated from now on, including in the upcoming 2025 APBN draft,” he said.
It is known that SBY and Prabowo have met twice since the 2024 elections. The first meeting took place in Pacitan, East Java on Saturday (17/2). Then the second meeting took place at SBY’s residence in Cikeas, West Java on Friday (23/2).
