Djurgården won according to plan against division 1 club Nordic United in the Swedish cup with 5-0 and the big talking point afterwards was Lucas Bergvall.
The super talent – who recently signed a five-year contract with big club Tottenham where he will join this summer – accounted for two goals and an assist before being substituted in the 72nd minute. He was also involved in Djurgården’s first goal.
Bergvall’s 2-0 was a controlled wide side, but it was the 4-0 goal that really stood out.
“Can become an incredible player”
Future promise then had the ball in their own half, pulled away from three opponents and advanced forward in the lane before eliminating three more Nordic players plus the goalkeeper and rolling the ball in.
– What is the goal? The last little feint brings to mind a certain Zlatan Ibrahimovic with a classic goal once upon a time, says TV4’s commentator Peter Backe, referring to Zlatan’s goal in the Ajax shirt against NAC Breda in 2004.
Expert Erik Edman fills in:
– What an incredible player this can be. The build-up to Hummet’s 3-0 was also magical. Tottenham probably feel they are pretty happy with this deal right now.
Bergvall: “It was just driving”
Bergvall himself about the super goal:
– I receive a pass from “Mackan” in the middle, see a surface and turn up. Then it was just a matter of driving. I ended up feinting the keeper and rolling it in. A really good goal, he tells TV4.
Both Djurgården and IFK Göteborg are at full strength after two cup matches and will meet in the last round of the group stage.
Substitute Gustaf Norlin became the hero for “Blåvitt” with the match’s only goal against Skövde in the 85th minute.
