200 Years of Greatness: “El Espectáculo” Musical Celebrates Guanajuato’s Cultural Diversity and History

Irapuato, Gto. On the occasion of the 200 years of greatness of the State of Guanajuato, the musical work “El Espectáculo” was presented at the City Theater, a first-class event that surprised the public who gathered at this cultural venue.

This musical the “Show” is inspired by the cultural diversity, history and innovation of the State in a performance full of emotions and pride, where more than 60 actors on stage show everything through 7 scenes, where in each one happens the history of the state represented by the different characters of the 200 years that have made Guanajuato a state of greatness.

With a great variety of special effects, colorful lights and music from different eras, it was how the first scene began where the first pre-Hispanic inhabitants of this region were shown, later it continued with the fusion of two cultures, mining, fighting of independence, the development of the state and up to the present day.

Vivianne León, producer of the Dóngola company, pointed out that this story is a classic “crossover” in which the characters of these 200 years are presented, characters who made the history of these years.

This production has many acrobatic scenes, dancers, actors, musicians and mariachis, all of this takes you to live those 200 years through the musical that deals with the history of Guanajuato and that you can appreciate in an hour and a half.

The “Show” will make presentations in 8 different plazas, León, Irapuato, Cortazar, San José Iturbide, Salamanca, Celaya, Silao in the Bicentennial Park and Teatro Juárez in Guanajuato, which is why it is worth admiring what it represents and even more for that enhancement that is given through the music and the talented actors, musicians who make this musical one of the best.

This entire production is composed by Guanajuato natives from the Aztec mariachi of San Francisco del Rincón, the “Great Band” that accompanies the artist César Tafoya, who is a countertenor, as well as a soprano and tenor, and hundreds of special effects, which are made by lighting and sound engineers also from Guanajuato.
