The works for the construction of the terminal, platform and complementary infrastructure of the Contador de Pitalito Airport were awarded. The investment of almost 39,000 million pesos represents an economic boost for Huila and demonstrates the work of leaders and authorities committed to the region.
For the former mayor of Pitalito Edgar Muñoz Torres, the modern air terminal not only facilitates the transportation of passengers and goods, but also plays a fundamental role in promoting economic development. “By improving accessibility and transportation infrastructure, new commercial and tourism opportunities are generated. The arrival of more commercial flights and the expansion of air operations will not only benefit Pitalito, but will also have a positive impact on the entire region, attracting investment, promoting tourism and stimulating economic growth.”
The former president along with other leaders from Pitalito and Huila carried out an entire crusade to go from the dream to the execution of the contract that is expected to be at the service of Colombia and the world in a year and a half. “It was the crowning work of four years of management. From the binding regional dialogues, to the registration in the Development Plan, then visits by the Minister of Transportation, President Petro and the National Director of Aerocivil.”

This project not only improves the physical infrastructure but also raises the status of the region on the national and international stage, projecting it as a promising destination for investment and business development.
“In summary, the construction of the air terminal at Pitalito airport represents a crucial step towards the sustainable economic development of the region. It is a milestone that reflects the determination and commitment of all those involved in driving the growth and prosperity of Pitalito and its surrounding areas. “We are a Region that Lives!” expressed Muñoz Torres excitedly.
“Works that give life to the region.”
