Christopher Lee: The Legendary Actor Who Played Creepy Villains

Played a creepy villain.

Not many foreign actors managed to appear in films shot in the USSR and with Soviet money. Among these was a truly international star – the artist played in the biggest blockbusters of the last 20 years.

Christopher Lee is one of the main long-livers of American and European cinema. He began acting in the late 1940s. At that time, he had just returned from the front of World War II, where he served as a pilot.

It is almost impossible to count all the films with the participation of a Briton. Thanks to his expressive appearance, he is remembered for the roles of inveterate villains: Count Dracula in the film of the same name, Saruman in The Lord of the Rings and Count Dooku in Star Wars.

In 1987, Lee agreed to appear in Vladimir Grammatikov’s fantasy fairy tale “Mio, my Mio.” He had to embody the image of the evil knight Kato. The film was received ambiguously, nevertheless, after Perestroika it was often shown on television.
