Isaac Babadi Contract Uncertainty at PSV: What’s Next for the Youngster?

Isaac Babadi had a starting spot at PSV on Saturday evening for the first time since August 19 in the away match against PEC Zwolle. and played ninety minutes in a PSV shirt for the first time. But he has an expiring contract with the Eindhoven team and whether he will renew is highly uncertain. Hans Kraay Jr. spoke with technical director Ernest Stewart and gave an update on the situation surrounding the youngster after the PSV seven-hit winner. “PSV has made him several offers – the last one a few weeks ago – and they are sticking with it.”

According to Kraay Jr., Earnest Stewart clearly stands his ground. “If he wants to stay, they have to come to PSV. Stewart believes that they have made an excellent offer.”

Hans Kraay Jr. already indicated before the match that Babadi should opt for a longer stay in Eindhoven. “He’s in a good place there. If you are a real estate agent, you want to sell that boy as quickly as possible and have him sign a five-year contract somewhere else,” says Kraay Jr. in the Eretibune. “If I had been his agent, I would say: sign it again.”

Analyst Marciano Vink disagrees. He takes Babadi’s perspective and sees that there is a lot of competition for his position. “At the start of the season he showed that he can handle the level,” says Vink. “Then he has to compete with three guys. Of these, Saibari will probably be the first to be sold. Then you still have Tillman, Til and the option to shift the players. His perspective on playing minutes in the first team of PSV 1 is quite difficult,” says the analyst.

Before the kick-off of the match against Zwolle, trainer Peter Bosz indicated that he was not concerned with Babadi’s contract. “I just see what is best and what will win this match. I will draft those guys.”
