Discover Employment Opportunities in the Social and Solidarity Economy at the Rhône-Alpes Employment Forum 2008

A major first at the regional level, the Employment Forum in the Social and Solidarity Economy in Rhône-Alpes will meet up with Rhône-Alpes residents on January 11 and 12, 2008 at the École normale supérieure in Lyon to discover all the opportunities employment in this sector. Organized by Cress Rhône-Alpes (Regional Chamber of the Social and Solidarity Economy), Afij and CJDES (Center for Young Leaders of the Social Economy), this event is supported by the Rhône-Alpes Region and by the ‘State. A pioneering event in Rhône-Alpes, this forum will present more than 1,000 job offers to the 3,000 visitors (students, employees, job seekers) expected during the 2 days of the event.

A growing sector

The leading economic sector in terms of job creation, the social and solidarity economy represents 10% of jobs in Rhône-Alpes (210,000 jobs) and displays economic performances which make it one of the most promising in terms of growth of the next decade. Made up of mutual societies, cooperatives, associations, personal services, fair trade and other companies with a social vocation, the social and solidarity economy largely invests in sustainable development and economic innovation in the service of the territories.

Two days to discover all job opportunities

Forum for employment in the social and solidarity economy in Rhône Alpes With the title “Give meaning to your work”, the Forum sets the tone. Who has never wondered about the meaning or values ​​of their professional activity? Based on a different approach to work, the social and solidarity economy offers professions and ethics serving people and social bonds. The forum program will allow visitors to learn about the opportunities offered by this sector: – A job space will allow recruiters to present their job offers and meet candidates. – Conferences and workshops will provide information on career opportunities and the challenges of a growing sector – A space dedicated to business creation and social entrepreneurship will offer numerous testimonies from entrepreneurs and will present the existing mechanisms to develop, consolidate and finance a project in the social and solidarity economy. After the “Solidarity Meetings” initiated by the Rhône-Alpes Region in the fall of 2007, this meeting will offer a second awareness-raising session, this time dedicated to employment, to invite Rhône-Alpes residents to discover another way of work and undertake.
