In March, Ukraine will receive from the European Union the first tranche in the amount of 4.5 billion euros from the “Ukrainian Fund” with a total volume of 50 billion euros. President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said this at a press conference in Kyiv.
The EC President recalled that it was decided to create a Ukrainian fund with a volume of 50 billion euros for a four-year period.
“This is in addition to the 88 billion euros that have already been transferred to Ukraine since the beginning of the war. The first payment of 4.5 billion euros will arrive in March. We will then continue a steady flow of support for the next four years. This will support your reforms and roadmap investment Ukrainian plan,” von der Leyen said.
50 billion euros for Ukraine from the European Union
As UNIAN reported, on February 1, the heads of state and government of the European Union member countries adopted a unanimous decision to create a Ukrainian Fund worth 50 billion euros for macro-financial budget support for Ukraine during 2024-2027.
The total budget of 50 billion euros will be divided into 33 billion in loans and 17 billion in grants. This money will be provided for the implementation of contract points of the “Ukrainian Plan” of reforms and infrastructure restoration projects, which should be drawn up by the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers.
