Former Taipei City Councilor Lin Ying-meng, once known as the “Sweetheart Councilor,” was exposed as a “Masked Sweetheart” and she and her ex-boyfriend Ye Yao-chang were prosecuted for allegedly fraudulently claiming assistant fees. The Taipei District Court held a hearing on the 23rd. During the investigation of the case, Lin Yingmeng was granted a bail of 1 million yuan. However, the guarantor was Lin Yingmeng’s ex-husband, who requested the return of the bail for a bank named Lin Shaodong. Therefore, the judge ordered Lin Yingmeng to Meng must pay 1 million before 10 p.m., otherwise he will be detained according to law. Lin Yingmeng’s relatives and friends arrived at the Taipei District Court at around 9 p.m. with 1 million in cash and successfully applied for insurance.
According to information, during the investigation of the case, the guarantor of Lin Yingmeng’s 1 million bail was Lin Yingmeng’s ex-husband, whose surname was Lin Shaodong of a certain bank. When the two got married, they were quite low-key and few people knew about it. However, the marriage only lasted for 2 months. The two parties signed a divorce in January. There is still a lawsuit over the distribution of the couple’s property. Thinking that since there was no longer a relationship between husband and wife, there was no obligation to maintain bail. Lin Shaodong applied to the North Court to cancel the bail, and the judge ruled.

During this court session, Lin Yingmeng’s ex-husband said that Lin Yingmeng had real estate in his name, which was enough to prove that he had financial resources. In this regard, Lin Yingmeng emphasized that her mother bought the house for her, and now she still has to bear a mortgage loan of 3 million yuan. Lin Yingmeng’s appointed lawyer also said that Lin Yingmeng is unemployed and may not be able to afford the high insurance deposit, and hopes there are other alternatives.
In March 2020, Lin Yingmeng was exposed by her former assistant as a “masked sweetheart”. Not only was she harsh on her assistants, but she also asked her ex-boyfriend Ye Yaozhang to pretend to be the CEO of the office to fraudulently receive assistant subsidies and misappropriate assistant labor and health insurance subsidies. Lin Yingmeng therefore filed a lawsuit against his former assistant, but the prosecutor did not prosecute. However, the prosecutor discovered that Lin Yingmeng was suspected of fraudulently receiving assistant fees from 2018 to 2020, and was prosecuted for corruption and other crimes.
