SERANG, RADARBANTEN.CO.ID – The Banten Health Service (Dinkes) noted that at the beginning of 2024, at least 1,619 Banten residents were attacked by Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, aka DHF. In fact, some of them were reported to have died.
In recent times, dengue fever cases in Banten have indeed increased, there have been reports of a spike in cases in several areas of Banten. This was confirmed by the Head of the Banten Health Office, Dr. Ati Pramudji.
“The number of dengue fever cases in 2024 will be 1,619 people with eight people dying,” said Ati to Radar Banten, Saturday 24 February 2024.
Most dengue fever cases are found in densely populated areas, such as Tangerang Regency. There, 640 people were attacked by the disease carried by the Aedes aegypti type mosquito.
Followed by Lebak Regency with 459 cases, Pandeglang 308 cases, Serang 61 cases, Serang city 44 cases, Cilegon city 27 cases, South Tangerang city 27 cases, and Tangerang city 70 cases. Four people died as a result of dengue attacks in Tangerang Regency, and four people in Lebak.
Meanwhile, in 2023 there were 4,154 cases recorded, with details of Serang Regency 237 cases, Pandeglang 531 cases, Tangerang 1363 cases, Lebak 760 cases, Tangerang City 290 cases, Serang City 311 cases, Cilegon City 242 cases and South Tangerang City 420 cases.
“The dengue situation in Indonesia in January 2024 will see an increase in cases due to climate change (El Nino),” he said.
