Over two days, as part of the promotional tour for the film, Abu Dhabi hosted Denis Villeneuve, director of the American film “Dunee: Part 2,” accompanied by director Tanya Lapointe and the film’s stars, Josh Brolin and Dave Bautista. The guests enjoyed a group of exclusive experiences inspired by the film, which the emirate was unique in offering. .
Guests saw a huge model used in filming the film at the Warner Brothers Hotel Abu Dhabi, the Curio Collection by Hilton, and another giant sandworm in the Abu Dhabi desert, and participated in the first official showing of the film in the Middle East at VOX Cinemas on Al Maryah Island.
The film’s events take place in the distant future, and the sand dunes in the Liwa Desert formed the filming location for the scenes on the desert planet (Arrakis), and filming continued in 20 locations over 27 days during the year 2022 with the help of 300 individuals from the Emirates and an international team of 250 people… and the Abu Dhabi Committee contributed.
