Oaxaca de Juárez, Oax. February 23, 2024.- The Health Services of Oaxaca (SSO) will begin the free vaccination campaign against measles, starting on February 26 in all health centers of the entity, which will be aimed at girls and boys from 12 to 18 months in the eight regions of the state.
The institution announced that the biological SRP (triple viral) will be applied, which will protect children against measles, rubella and mumps.
For this vaccination day, which will end on May 31, the SSOs plan to apply 68,599 doses through health jurisdictions, of which 27,775 will be distributed in the Central Valleys, 10,986 in the Isthmus, 9,190 in Tuxtepec, 9,630 in the Coast, 6,957 in the Mixteca and 4,061 in the Sierra.
It should be noted that measles is a serious disease of the lungs and respiratory tract. The symptoms are a rash that begins with tiny red dots on the head and then throughout the body, fever, cough, runny nose and red eyes; This condition is very contagious and can be fatal.

In this sense, the agency invites mothers and fathers to take their daughters and sons to be vaccinated at one of the entity’s health centers, since it is important that the child population of 2, 4, 6 and 12 months Attend the units to cover your basic vaccination schedule.
