With an impressive musical and poetic performance, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the great Burgas poet Hristo Fotev, the official ceremony of awarding the National Prize for Poetry in his name will be opened. Traditionally, it will take place on his birthday – March 25, and this year the place is the BSU Atrium.
The performance is by the prominent Burgas director Hristo Simeonov.
This year, the program of events on the occasion of the birthday of the iconic Bulgarian poet is extremely rich and varied.
The main event is the contest, which is organized by the Municipality of Burgas, the Ministry of Culture, the Burgas Writers’ Community Association, the Union of Bulgarian Writers and the Association of Bulgarian Writers. It is held under the patronage of the mayor Dimitar Nikolov.
It is planned that this year the winner of the “Hristo Fotev” National Award will receive a cash prize of BGN 4,000, a diploma from the Municipality of Burgas and a “Golden Feather” plaque from the Union of Bulgarian Writers.
For the third year in a row, on the initiative of the Municipality of Burgas, the competition for illustration of poems by Hristo Fotev is being held.
The competition is for students from class VIII to XII and university students. The works will be presented in an exhibition accompanying the National Poetry Competition “Hristo Fotev”.
On the occasion of the anniversary BNR-Burgas, together with the Municipality of Burgas, organized a campaign under the title “The sea is not a fiction and happiness exists!”
The program of events includes an exhibition, a student performance and a series of radio podcasts and celebrity interviews.
The exposition will present manuscripts, unseen photographs, belongings and memories of him, which will find a place in 24 “frames”. The exhibition was realized jointly with the State Archives in Burgas, the House of Writers and the Peyo Yavorov Regional Library and will be opened on March 19 at 5:00 p.m. on the alley in front of the Cultural Center “Morsko Casino”.
A musical and poetic performance dedicated to Hristo Fotev will be presented on March 19, at 6:00 p.m., in the “Georgi Baev” hall of the Sea Casino. Students from AEG “Geo Milev”, NEG “Goethe”, PPMG “Acad. Nikola Obreshkov”, Vocational Trade High School – Burgas, PGRE “G. S. Rakovski”, PGCE “Vasil Levski”.
The event, which is realized with the cooperation of RUO-Burgas, has a competition part “Reciting favorite poems of Fotev”. The young people’s poetic interpretations will be evaluated by a jury chaired by the director Hristo Simeonov and members Roza Boyanova – poet and president of the Burgas Writers’ Association, and Mariana Racheva from BNR-Burgas.
The best performances will be awarded with prizes and broadcast on video on the eve of March 25 – the poet’s birthday, in order to bring the beautiful verbal landscape of Hristo Fotev into the digital space as well.
BNR – Burgas will realize a series of podcasts in February and March, in which through the stories of artists, actors, directors and members of the public about the exciting meetings with Hristo Fotev, we will touch the world of the poet.
