President Bernardo Arévalo, as an honorary witness, witnessed the signing of the understanding between Líneas Aéreas de España, SA Iberia and the Guatemalan Institute of Tourism (Inguat). This activity promises to strengthen tourist links between Guatemala and Europe.
To this extent, air connectivity will be facilitated and the various tourist sites will be promoted in the European market over the next two years. Harris Whitbeck, director of Inguat, highlighted the strategic importance of the agreement, since it expands the visibility of Guatemala as a first-class tourist destination, taking advantage of Iberia’s promotion channels and sales networks.
“Currently, Iberia serves as the direct link between Guatemala and Europe (Spain), with daily flights between both countries. This alliance aims to increase the number of passengers from Spain and the connections that the airline has with other destinations,” said Whitbeck.
