Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, announcing the conclusion of the agreement, emphasized that Ukraine can be sure of Denmark’s support.
The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that such security arrangements are the result of a G7 initiative. The initiative is currently supported by 32 countries and the European Union (EU). Germany, France and the United Kingdom are among the countries that have already concluded such agreements with Ukraine.
At the same time, Frederiksen announced the 15th aid package for Ukraine in the amount of approximately 1.7 billion crowns (approximately 230 million euros). The package includes financing for the purchase of 15,000 artillery shells, which are expected to be donated to Ukraine in the coming months in cooperation with the Czech Republic.
Denmark has repeatedly provided Ukraine with military support, as well as promised F-16 fighter jets. The delivery of the planes, originally planned for the turn of the year, has been delayed, but on Thursday the Danish Defense Ministry announced that Ukraine could expect the first F-16s as early as this summer. However, it will depend on several factors, including the training of Ukrainian pilots.
