The peak of cedar pollen is approaching. Already, there are places in Kyushu, the Tokai region, and parts of the Kanto region where cedar pollen is observed in large numbers, and Fukuoka and Takamatsu will soon reach their peak. It will rain in some places during the three-day weekend starting tomorrow, but the amount of pollen scattered is expected to increase rapidly after the rain. Take precautions against pollen when going out.

Tomorrow, the 23rd, rain and snow are expected in the morning, and pollen is expected to be “high” in Kyushu.

Tomorrow, the 23rd, the front extending south of Honshu is expected to gradually move south. However, a trough of atmospheric pressure accompanied by cold air will pass through the sky by tomorrow morning. Tomorrow, the 23rd, it is expected that there will be rain and snow in the morning, but it will gradually subside in the afternoon.

The amount of pollen scattered tomorrow, the 23rd, is “high” or “slightly high” in Kyushu, Chugoku, and Shikoku. The Kinki, Tokai, Kanto, Hokuriku, and Tohoku regions are expected to have “low numbers.” When the rain and snow stop, the amount of pollen flying tends to increase, so even in places where the forecast is for a “low amount” of pollen, it’s a good idea to stay alert and take precautions.

The peak season for cedar pollen is approaching

Already in some parts of Kyushu, Tokai, and Kanto, extremely high amounts of cedar pollen have been observed.
On the 15th, the first day of spring in the Kanto region, extremely high amounts of cedar pollen were observed in Tokyo, with 287.7 pollen particles per square centimeter in Ome and 137.3 pollen particles in Tama.

In Fukuoka and Takamatsu, cedar pollen will soon reach its peak. Hiroshima, Osaka, Nagoya, Kanazawa, Tokyo, and Sendai are likely to reach their peak in early March.
The peak period is expected to last from about 10 days to nearly a month. The peak season for cedar trees will soon begin in a wide area, so if you suffer from hay fever, it would be a good idea to take precautions when going out.

Additionally, cypress pollen peaks in many places from late March to early April. In Sendai, the amount of cypress pollen scattered is small, and no clear peak is expected to appear.
