The authorities of the state of Bolívar, in Venezuela, confirmed this Wednesday the deployment of a rescue operation after the collapse in the Bulla Loca mine, in the municipality of Angostura.
According to the state governor, Ángel Marcano, the collapse left more than ten dead and numerous injured; and he highlighted that two helicopters have been arranged to transport the victims and the injured, and autopsies are being carried out at the local airport for correct identification.
For his part, the vice minister for Risk Management and Civil Protection, Carlos Pérez Ampueda, stated that tents were set up to offer pre-hospital care to people who are rescued, while experts in forensic medicine and ambulances were activated to transport the victims.
Pérez Ampueda also indicated in his account on the social network ZODI) carrying out rescue, search and rescue actions.
In a statement, the Government of Bolívar state expressed its solidarity with the victims of the collapse, and stated that “from the early hours, the Civil Protection and security teams have been carrying out rescue efforts for the victims.”
“As a responsible Government and guarantor of the comprehensive well-being of our people, we will be hand in hand with the injured and supporting the families of the deceased at all times,” the document details.
Likewise, the Government of the region highlighted confidence in its presence and support in these moments of sadness.
