– Woman Charged with Murder of Husband Found Dead in Ølensvåg: Latest Updates and Investigation Status

– The prosecution considers that the conditions for imprisonment are no longer present. The case is still under investigation and the charges are upheld, says police attorney Christine Kleppa in a press release on Thursday.

It was the night of 13 August last year that Alf Magnar Habbestad (64) was found dead at a private address in Ølensvåg in Vindafjord municipality.

The man’s wife was shortly after arrested and charged with murder. Since then, the woman has been in prison, but denies criminal guilt.

Found a bloody hammer in the garage

– Go to sleep

As Dagbladet has previously mentioned, a bloody hammer was found in the garage, where the 64-year-old was found dead. In connection with previous detentions, the court has pointed out that they believe a conflict in the marriage was behind the alleged murder.

According to the ruling from the first detention meeting, the woman has explained that her husband went out into the garage sometime between 20:00 and 20:30 on 12 August. She herself should have gone to sleep a few hours later, around 10 p.m.

The accused woman has explained that she woke up at around 03.45. She then allegedly noticed that the deceased was not in the home, but saw that the light was on in the garage. According to the explanation, she must have then gone out into the garage where she found her husband dead. She called the medical emergency number herself.

– A bloody hammer was found next to the deceased, says the ruling from Sør-Rogaland district court.

Pointed to car salesman

In connection with another prison meeting, the wife has also pointed to a car salesman who she believes could be the perpetrator behind the murder. Among other things, she has referred to an alleged conflict between her and the car salesman.

– I have nothing to do with this case at all, said the car salesman when Dagbladet contacted him last autumn.
