On November 9, it became known about the detention of ex-minister Kuandyk Bishimbayev. As previously reported, in one of the restaurants in Astana, a quarrel occurred between visitors, as a result of which a woman died from her injuries. Later it became known that the deceased was the wife of the ex-minister Saltanat Nukenova.
Bishimbayev was detained on the same day on suspicion of murder and is under arrest. On November 11, Saltanat Nukenova was buried in Pavlodar. The couple were married for about a year.
