More expensive upgrades with less technical content. Continuous payment of more than 30 consultants, distribution of rewards from loans, preparation of vision plans without implementation. Advertising tender, Frankfurt tram procurement, usually hefty procurement fees. Scandals about the payment: a part of the iconic Lánchíd renovation money landed in a left-wing bank account. This is how Gergely Karácsony applauded Budapest’s money, who led Budapest to bankruptcy – reports the Metropolis.
In 2019, the Mayor started by withdrawing part of the investments, invalidating the renovation of Blaha Lujza Square and Lánchíd tender. After it was revealed that István Tarlós left more than HUF 214 billion to Karácsony, a substantial part of which was for free use, it can easily be interpreted as the left-wing Prime Minister’s boast that he only dealt the cards to the left with the changes to the investments, and in the meantime covered it all up with gossip.
This is indicated by, among others, the money scandal: the Lánchíd was renovated for 5 billion more expensively – like all other investments – , in addition, a part of the money disappeared in the left bank account. The paper draws attention, let us not forget that the left-liberal city management managed wastefully until the end. Thanks to the activities of the left, the city has a debt and deficit of more than HUF 234 billion.
Adósságspirálban
Similar to the Demszky era, the mayor may have years behind him, even though everything is mixed up – with the difficult situation due to the war with inflation also – Gergely Karácsony managed twice as much money as his predecessor, István Tarlós, in 2018, his last full year. We show the current results of the management of the capital’s left wing:
- The capital’s account is HUF 4 billion in the red.
- The capital’s debt is HUF 154.1 billion.
- The capital city government does not currently have a state paper office, two years ago this was a saving of HUF 110 billion.
- The supplier’s debt rose to HUF 26.2 billion.
- BKV was sold to banks for HUF 50 billion (factoring).
The virtual world of Gergely Kárcsony
It made him smile as the left-wing Prime Minister started his campaign and started making threats again, citing a debt and deficit of 234 billion for his wasteful economy. ¡val, and practically no independent development is attached to its name.
According to the faction leader of the Fidesz-KDNP in the capital, the Lánchíd scandal is one of the many cases in which serious billions are involved, and they are affecting Budapest badly. „And the mayor listens deeply.â€
There is the parking scandal in Zugló, but we didn’t even know why BKV didn’t sign the advertising tender contract at the end of 2019. With this, he has already caused more than HUF 3 billion in damage to the city. Or we are still waiting for the answer regarding the tender for the canceled Danube route system, in which the police investigation is still ongoing. In this too, the mayor received a procurement fine. The one-man tender for the purchase of used Frankfurt trams was also interesting.
