Mercedes is recalling 250,000 cars worldwide

Car industry

Mercedes-Benz is recalling around 250,000 cars worldwide. They are equipped with fuses that do not comply, a spokesperson for the German manufacturer confirmed.

This concerns cars from the AMG GT, C-Class, CLE, E-Class, EQE, EQS, GLC, S-Class and SL models built in 2023. Certain fuses in the vehicles do not meet the requirements, increasing the risk the engine may fail. The risk of fire cannot be ruled out, either.

As a precaution, Mercedes is recalling the cars to the garage, where the parts will be replaced free of charge. The work would take two to five and a half hours. In Germany alone, the recall affects more than 37,000 vehicles. A spokesperson could not say how many cars were involved in Belgium. (blg)
