Cubans reported online the murder of a young man who was stabbed during a party held this Monday, February 19, in the province of Santiago de Cuba.
According to this information, the incident occurred at the El Ciroa recreational center, and the victim identified himself as Breezy Alexnay on social networks.
Cuban journalist Yosmany Mayeta indicated that the young man lived in the Julio Palacios quarters in the José Martí neighborhood, and that his body currently remains in the ‘Saturnino Lora’ Provincial Hospital.
Additionally, he explained that the person responsible for the crime fled before the authorities arrived at the crime scene, and has not been located.
The attacker was identified as Marcos Rene Vera, who resides in the Los Pinos neighborhood. The communicator pointed out that, although there is no concrete information, several people pointed out him as the author of this crime.
“Everyone points to him as the possible murderer. According to what they tell me, although I do not have precise information, this is the second case of Vera’s murder, who has not yet turned himself in and remains a fugitive,” he wrote.
According to the reporter, there are some people who speculate that he could leave the Island, since his parents currently reside in the United States.
At the moment, the reasons that led to the attack are unknown, although there are people who claim that the fight that caused all this did not start with the victim.
“Until now the real reasons for the murder are unknown, although many people say that the fight was not with the murdered young man,” the communicator added in another publication in which he shared photographs of the alleged aggressor.
Finally, the reporter shared images that showed a crowd of people who took to the streets of Santiago de Cuba to say goodbye to the murdered young man, which showed that he was a very loved person in his community.
This has not been the only case in which a young man was stabbed during a party on the Island, something that reflects an increase in insecurity and violence.
One of the last people to be stabbed was the young Wilmer Yunior Lestapier Pascual, who was attacked on the emblematic Pacho Alonso track, also located in Santiago de Cuba.
The young man’s mother confirmed that he survived the attack, but that he was still admitted to the hospital in serious condition.
