Windows 11 Release Health Dashboard Announcement
Microsoft announced on February 20th (local time) that it will advance the rollout of Windows 11 2023 Update (version 23H2) to a new stage. Windows 11 devices that have reached or are nearing end of service will be automatically upgraded to version 23H2.
To upgrade to version 23H2, open the Windows Update page in the Settings app and check the box labeled Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available. For Home/Pro edition devices that meet the system requirements and do not have safeguards (described below) applied, “version 23H2” will be downloaded in the background.
If you select the checkbox “Get the latest updates as soon as they are available”, you will be able to use “version 23H2”. Downloading and installation are automatic. It won’t happen automatically until you reboot.
By the way, the user can control when to restart the OS to apply “version 23H2”. If you want to avoid interrupting your work or losing data you are editing due to restarting the OS, you can restart the computer manually at a time convenient to you, or restart it during a time when you are not doing any work. It would be a good idea to schedule it.
User can select when to restart the OS
For safety reasons, “safeguards” will be applied to devices that are known to have issues with upgrades, and “Windows 11 version 23H2” will be provided in that environment until the issue is resolved. Not done.
As of this writing, there is only one issue for which safeguards have been applied: If you update the driver to a fixed driver, the safeguard will be removed.
The multi-monitor environment and “Copilot in Windows” issues announced at the end of last year have already been resolved, and safeguards have been lifted.
