The deputy for the Grand Alliance for National Unity (GANA), Guillermo Gallegos, said that he will not deny, question or give his opinion on what happened on February 4, where none of his candidates for deputies managed to secure a seat.

“Zero deputies, that’s how God wanted it and in particular I am very grateful to God. I have (done) everything that has been possible here in the Legislative Assembly, I have held all positions, from president to commission deputy, I am grateful after all this, I am not going to deny or question or give an opinion against what has happened,” Gallegos commented before the press who asked for reactions to the electoral defeat.

Gallegos assured that he leaves convinced that “all the processes have to end and the time has come for me to end, and, perhaps I will end it as I said in a tweet in response to Walter Araujo with -golden brooch-, because the The Assembly remains in good hands, guaranteeing what I fought so hard for, the peace, security and tranquility of the Salvadorans.”

The next legislature will be dominated by Nuevas Ideas with 54 legislators, the National Concertation Party (PCN) and the Nationalist Republican Alliance (ARENA) two deputies each; while the Christian Democratic Party and VAMOS one deputy for each.

GANA was founded in 2010, after a side of ARENA decided to form its own political party. Since then it had won seats.
