The president’s government Daniel Noboa ha revoked its decision to deliver Russian weapons to the United Statesas reported by the unofficial Russian television RT, citing the Russian ambassador in Ecuador, Vladimir Sprichan.
The information has not been confirmed by official Ecuadorian sources until the afternoon of Friday, February 16.
RT says that the decision has been made after a decision with President Daniel Noboa.
The information has coincided with the decision, announced by the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry on the morning of this Friday, February 16, of an agreement with the Russian phytosanitary organization to revoke the banana export ban of five Ecuadorian companies, due to the alleged existence of a humpback fly.
The Ministry of Production of Ecuador, through its head, Sonsoles García, has emphatically denied that said ban on banana exports has any relationship with President Daniel Noboa’s decision to agree to an exchange for $200 million of what he described as scrap Russian weapons to the United States.to receive new weapons that allow the Armed Forces of Ecuador to face the “internal armed conflict” against organized crime.
