First of all for its primary function, that of being a padel complex, a racket sport whose popularity comes from the other side of the Pyrenees, with exponential popularity in France. “Honestly, it’s quite incredible,” Soline Arnal, one of the Arena’s five employees, can’t believe it. “For popular time slots, you now have to book at least a week in advance!” Called Padel Tolosa Rodez for its sports part, the site continues to develop. Three tournaments of this derivative of tennis played by four players are organized each week. And even a school was created, providing one course per week to each of its members. “It’s a sport that is aimed at many people, and almost all age groups,” explains the young woman.

But today, padel is only the tip of the iceberg. After a phase of work, an area, including a futsal and squash court, was replaced, to make way for a large reception area and several games rooms. Karaoke, quiz games and darts have been offered for several months, transforming a simple sports complex into a real place to live. “When they come for the first time, people are quite surprised to see that a place of this type exists in Rodez,” smiles Soline. Concretely, this development was notably enabled by obtaining the Quiz room franchise, which offers various themed games, lasting one hour, played by at least four people. Enough to vary the pleasures. “Many companies organize team building or afterwork events,” emphasizes the employee. Because in addition to these activities, the place is intended to be friendly. The reception has a bar and broadcasts all the major sporting events. “For many, it’s 1 hour 30 minutes of padel and an hour afterwards over a drink with friends,” analyzes Soline.
