“I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, Who made the heavens and the earth. Psalms 121:1
It is said that David spoke this psalm at a time when he was surrounded by enemies; He looked around to see if the gods of the mountains, or perhaps the inhabitants of the mountains, or any other organism of men, would appear upon him to help him in those moments of trouble, but none of the help he expected came. .
The word socorro means: help, succor, help, refuge, consolation, protection, relief.
We all hope that someone will help us, help us, console us, in the face of the various situations that we go through in life, the question is: Where and from whom do you expect that help, that help? Perhaps you have looked towards the mountains, towards the sky at the people, at the institutions, but the help has been in vain, and nothing has come and you no longer know what to do and you are increasingly despondent, afflicted and discouraged.
Many times we are aware that we are facing situations that we cannot solve alone, and we try to do it in our own way and with our strength, but this has only led us to fatigue, stress and depression.
David, faced with his situation, expressed “My Help Comes from Jehovah” Although the institutions, the people, have turned their backs on him, there is one person who will never fail him, that person is God, he is the only one who can come to his aid. , help him, reach out to you, we just have to put our faith in God and wait on him.
When adversity is touching your life, whether it is due to illness, shortages, poverty; breaks in human relationships, you only have two options left to face them: one of them is to throw yourself on the ground and surrender to them, or to direct your gaze beyond the mountains, to the God who made the heavens and the earth and with faith cry out in seek help and protection.
Today is the time for you to raise your gaze even higher, to the Heavens because that is where your true Help will come.
David expressed this: “My help comes from Jehovah, who made the heavens and the earth. He will not give your foot to the Slide; He who guards you will not fall asleep, he will not slumber or sleep He who guards you, the Lord is your keeper, the Lord is your shadow at your right hand. The sun will not weary you by day, nor will the moon by night, the Lord will keep you from everything. evil: He will guard your soul, he will guard your Exit and your entry, From Now and Forever.
These words are words of comfort of hope and confidence in the protection that God provides to our lives. Your life will find peace and security only in the hands of God.
The Word of God in the letter of the apostle Saint Peter tells us:
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
