The public mediator in Burgas Todor Stamboliev discovered procedure for choosing a youth student ombudsman on the territory of the municipality. The initiative is in line with the revised European charter for the participation of young people in the life of municipalities and regions, adopted by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities in Europe /10th session – May 21, 2003 /.
Regulations for their organization and activities and Regulations for participation in the election procedure have been drawn up. Announcement has been sent to start the initiative to all schools in the territory of the municipality, in which there are junior high school classes, as well as to the student councils in these schools.
the deadline of submitting documents for participation is 05.03.2024 year until 4 p.m o’clock. The youth student ombudsman of the municipality of Burgas and his deputy are elected among the students of 9th and/or/ 10th class of the schools in the municipality of Burgas, and their mandate is 2 years.
2. Each pair of candidates must at the same time meet the following conditions and criteria:
2.1. To be students in 9 and/or/10 class.
2.2. To possess high moral qualities.
2.3. To have success over “Very good” 5.00 for the previous academic term.
2.4. To have no penalties imposed.
2.5. To have registered properly and in time for participation in the election.
3. The candidate couple registers to participate in the election within a period of 2 weeks (14 days) after its announcementby submitting a list of names and signatures as a minimum 20 (twenty people) of his sympathizers and supporters – students and/or teachers (not parents and/or other relatives), as well as 2 (two) written recommendations from teachers, one of which must be from the class teacher, certifying the requirements under item 2.3 and item 2.4.
Everyone has the right to support with his signature only one nomination. The success achieved is certified by the attached document on the candidate’s success for the completed first academic term, signed by the class teacher.
