WARTEN – The police arrested two men on Sunday after an attempted burglary in Warten. The suspects are a 46-year-old man from Leeuwarden and a 35-year-old man of no fixed abode.

The duo had attempted to break into a shed on Nije Reed in Warten. The police received the report around 3:30 PM and immediately sent out a Burgernet message with a description of the suspects. Not long afterwards the two men were arrested.

The investigation into the case is still ongoing. It is still being investigated whether the burglary attempt was successful and whether anything was stolen.

In Friesland, 132 sheep have already died this year.

A car fire at the Biezenkamp in Oosterwolde was quickly brought under control by the owner and his neighbor on Saturday.
