Volkswagen has started pre-sales of the modernized Golf. In the basic version, the supercharger of the compact class will cost at least 27,180 euros, the universal modification – 28,280 euros.
The success story of the Volkswagen Golf began in 1974 and 50 years later, the total number of copies produced in all generations has exceeded 37 million. Currently, the success of the compact class is in its eighth generation, but in honor of its birthday, the manufacturer is launching a modernized version and an anniversary model.
The basic version of the facelift model is equipped with a 116 hp 1.5-liter TSI gasoline engine, new LED headlights, which in the more expensive version get IQ.LIGHT – LED matrix technology. All Golfs get IQ.LIGHT – 3D LED rear lights and an illuminated VW logo in the radiator grille.
In the cabin, a new generation information and entertainment system with an even faster processor, a free-standing 12.9-inch touch screen and Digital Cockpit Pro digital gauges. The touch sliders for adjusting the temperature and volume are illuminated, the multifunction steering wheel has easy-to-use physical buttons, which are also assisted by the IDA voice assistant. Using IDA with integrated ChatGPT, functions such as air conditioning, telephone or navigation can be controlled, receiving the necessary information and facts about almost all areas online.
The choice of engines is also a 150 hp version of the TSI gasoline engine combined with a manual gearbox and two 48 V Mild Hybrid variants also with 115 and 150 hp power, but in combination with a DSG 7-speed double clutch transmission. All four engines are modern four-cylinder direct injection units with VTG variable turbine geometry and automatic cylinder deactivation (ACTplus).
