Armenia Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declares not an ally of Russia on issue of Ukraine

Armenia is not an ally of Russia on the issue of Ukraine, stated Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan at a meeting with representatives of the Armenian diaspora in Germany in Munich.

“As I previously noted, Armenia is not an ally of Russia on the issue of Ukraine, and this is our honest position. We regret that we cannot influence this situation. The people of Ukraine are our native people. We cannot be ungrateful, the Armenians in Ukraine felt good,” leads words of the Prime Minister of the Armenian news Telegram channel “Baghramyan 26”.

Pashinyan says that in the conflict in Ukraine Armenia is not an ally of Russia said last June in an interview with CNN Prima News. “We are not allies of Russia in the war with Ukraine. And this war, this conflict causes us concern, since it directly affects all our relationships. The West notices that we are an ally of Russia. <...>. Russia sees that we are not their allies in the war in Ukraine. And it turns out that in this situation we are not anyone’s allies, which means that we are vulnerable,” he said.

In early February, Pashinyan, in an interview with the Public Radio of Armenia, said that Yerevan is looking for new partners for military-technical cooperation, since it cannot implement it only with Russia, as was the case before.
