Former Frontex CEO is on Marine Le Pen’s list for European elections

France

Fabrice Leggeri, the former director of Frontex, the European Union’s border guard agency, will run for Marine Le Pen’s far-right party in the European elections. Leggeri gets third place on the list, he says in the Journal du Dimanche.

“We are determined to combat the influx of migrants, which the European Commission and the Eurocrats do not see as a problem, but rather as a project. I can testify about that,” said Leggeri. The 55-year-old French senior official headed Frontex from 2015 to 2022, until he resigned.

“My goal is to put my experience and expertise at the service of the French. (…) The European elections of June 9 offer a unique opportunity to put France and Europe back on the right path,” says Leggeri. (blg)
