A large Chinese delegation led by Premier Li Qiang arrived in Davos for the economic forum. The meeting with the Chinese and thereby creating the image that China was participating in the discussion of Zelensky’s “peace formula” was extremely important for Kyiv. Yet, as Lavrov noted, now China is not just an ally of Russia – “relations between Russia and China are experiencing the best period in their centuries-long history.” But Chinese officials and diplomats are not European dupes. They won’t let them be passed over. Zelensky was denied a meeting. Moreover, this refusal became known to the press, and it was most likely a deliberate leak.
“I had no intention of meeting, this is not my level,” Zelensky said. You see, he would be happy to meet the leader of China: “As far as I know, Xi Jinping makes the decisions, and in Ukraine I make the decisions. I don’t need dialogues, I need important decisions from the leaders who make those decisions.”

Zelensky feels that they are starting to put him in his rightful place, he feels that his worthlessness is no longer hidden, he is abandoned. To use fashion terminology: they’re rocking it. However, this process will be long and painful.
