Expectations (at least in the USA) can hardly be greater than those associated with Shawn Levy’s latest film. Because it wasn’t enough that “Deadpool & Wolverine” had already been voted the most anticipated title of the year in a survey by the ticketing portal Fandango at the end of 2023, the trailer released parallel to the Super Bowl set a record: according to Disney, it had 365 million views and Marvel the most viewed trailer in history within 24 hours. Last but not least, the film also has to prove that, despite a whole series of disappointments (with “Madame Web” being the most recent), audiences have not yet given up on the superhero genre.
