JAKARTAChairul Tanjung is an important figure behind the CT Corp business octopus which oversees Mega Corp, Trans Corp, and CT Global Resources. The three businesses operate in media services, retail, lifestyle, entertainment, finance, property and natural resources.

The CT business octopus is becoming a hot topic of conversation after PT Trans Retail Indonesia or Transmart and Warunk Upnormal closed a number of outlets. There are at least 12 Transmart outlets that will close permanently in 2022.

A number of these outlets include Transmart Mangga Dua Square, North Jakarta, Transmart ITC Permata Hijau South Jakarta, Transmart Mal Ambassador South Jakarta, and several other outlets.

The total Transmart outlets closed from 2021 to early 2023 reached 39 outlets. The following is a row of CT businesses that are quiet and bankrupt.

1. Transmart

There are 12 Transmart outlets that will be permanently closed in 2022. It is known that the lack of Transmart has recently become a public concern.

Most recently, on November 1 2023, Transmart Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, owned by Chairul Tanjung, officially closed its outlet permanently after being established for 22 years.

2. Warunk Upnormal

The Warunk Upnormal culinary business is closed in several areas. It is known that this business has many branches in a number of regions. According to Marketing Expert Yuswohady, the closure of Warunk Upnormal outlets in a number of areas is because the food choices offered cannot be consumed continuously or are indulgent in nature.
