Paying with bank cards on POS devices is extremely fast and easy. With the introduction of contactless cards, these payments are now faster than ever, writes “Focus”.
Don’t worry about paying at POS terminals. If you follow a few basic rules, you can be calm about the funds on your card and easily take advantage of the advantages of this method, advise one of the major banks in Bulgaria.
Before confirming a payment, check whether the amount displayed on the POS terminal’s display is correct.
If the POS terminal requires a PIN code when entering it, cover it carefully with your hand.
You do not need to sign the receipt from the terminal if there is a message “No signature required” on it.
In case of a refused payment, you can contact the Bank’s Customer Contact Center to check the reason for the refusal or to pay in an alternative way.
As a last resort, the merchant may require an ID document to verify the name with the one on your card, but still cover your ID card number and TIN carefully. The employees in the sales outlets also have absolutely no right to record data from your card.
Part of your card details can be recorded on the receipt from the POS terminal only if the payment is made at an exchange office or if you have given your details through the relevant reservation form of a hotel, travel or car rental agency.
After completing the transaction, do not forget to take the card and the receipt from the POS terminal, as well as the additional invoices and documents issued by the merchant. You may need them later.
If you find that your payment has been duplicated and that you have been charged more or less than you should and you are still at the site, report it to the merchant immediately. If you do not receive assistance from him, contact the bank.
In the event that you forget your card at a merchant, lose it or have it stolen, call the 24/7 helpline immediately to block your card promptly.
