The most hated sticker for drivers goes down in history. Very soon they will not be obliged to stick it on the windshield of the car, writes in “Telegraf”.

The news was announced by MPs from the relevant parliamentary committee, which is soon to review the second reading of changes to the Road Traffic Act, which consign the green stickers to history. The motives are to facilitate citizens and reduce their costs of money and time.
The removal of the stickers came about after the gradual digitization of the traffic systems in our country and the insight of the deputies that both the Traffic Police officers and the smart modern cameras can check in a second in a database whether the insurance has been paid for a given car policy.
For this reason, among the changes is the removal of the obligation for drivers to carry with them an original or a copy of the “Civil Liability”.
Such, however, must be carried abroad, where the authorities do not have access to the Bulgarian databases.
Unlike the insurance sticker, getting rid of the technical inspection sticker or so-called an eco-sticker will prove to be a more difficult task. “The reason is that it is believed by many colleagues to be key to preventing bogus technical reviews and is therefore likely to remain.
However, the goal is not to be on the glass, but under the hood or on the profile of the driver’s door,” explained PP-DB MP Bozhidar Bojanov.
Under his proposal, it will be written into law that any stickers not introduced by law must immediately disappear from the windshields of cars.
This covers, for example, all stickers created by orders and regulations of institutions, including ministries, state-owned enterprises and municipalities.
The changes are expected to be seen in a package with those introducing the road agency’s cameras as means of detecting average speed for administrative-penal purposes.
