Björn Seeliger made it to the final session of the 50 meter freestyle and aimed for his first final place. And what a success it was.
The career’s first WC final was secured with a time of 21.67 – which also meant a new personal record.
– Oh oh oh! 21.67! What a swim by Björn, exclaimed SVT Sports expert Lars Frölander.
“I am really pleased”
Seeliger himself after the competition:
– Final! First final for me so I’m really happy. It feels good, the outer track is just for driving. I got minimal tips from this morning so it was good for me to just swim the races without thinking too much, he tells SVT Sport.
Björn Seeliger’s time of 21.67 is also enough for an Olympic place for the Swede.
Persson finished eighth
A little later, Erik Persson swam the final of the 200 meter breaststroke where the Swede finished last in the field in a time of 2:10.21.
The final will be broadcast tomorrow on Play and Kunskapskanalen, starting at 4:55 p.m.
