Man Caught Trying to Steal Over 600 Euros Worth of Groceries in Supermarket on Jan Heijnsstraat in Tilburg

A man tried to steal more than six hundred euros worth of groceries from a supermarket on Jan Heijnsstraat in Tilburg on Friday. A security guard spotted the man and stopped him.

Around 4 p.m., the security guard saw the suspect walking through the store with someone else and putting products in each other’s baskets and carts. Remarkably, at the self-checkout, the man did not scan anything at all.

With a receipt that he had received during a previous store visit, he tried to leave the store with the groceries.

Items returned
The 24-year-old man, whose permanent residence is not known by the police, was stopped at the exit. Officers took the man to the police station.

The stolen groceries were immediately returned to the store.
